With an impressive track record of 25 years experience, Dr. Bernardo Garcia
offers innovative, custom solutions to business challenges through measurable
organizational consulting, executive coaching, and leadership development
in the US, Latin America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. He has helped
executives in the financial services, consumer, and pharmaceutical industries
improve their leadership effectiveness and deliver on their business objectives.
Bernardo has worked with Johnson and Johnson in Latin America
and throughout he Asia-Pacific region facilitating executive development
programs, and coaching executives on cross-cultural issues and better alignment
within their business teams. At Pfizer, Bernardo
helped reassess the HR function and helped implement better HR alignment to
business needs and direction. At Avon, he helped develop
a General Manager's Program to accelerate the development of high-potential
GMs to more quickly provide leadership to their businesses. Bernardo has also
designed and implemented Executive Development Strategies that connects job
assignments, rotations, and succession planning to business needs. Prior to
his consulting career, Bernardo was head of Executive Development for Cigna,
CoreStates Financial and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.
He has a unique way of bringing simplicity to complicated global leadership
challenges. Bernardo consistently draws on his ability to quickly assess business
and leadership needs, effectively work with clients to form practical, easily
implemented solutions, and challenge current thinking in a supportive manner.
He balances pragmatic leadership approaches with creative and innovative solutions.
Bernardo has a Ph.D. in Organizational Systems from Fielding University, and
has published his dissertation on the Development of a Latino Identity.
Bernardo is a faculty member of the NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science,
and is a member of the American Psychological Association. He is fluent
in English, Spanish and Portuguese. He has also delivered several
leadership and business strategy presentations at both US and international
conferences.
